First Age 509 (abbreviated to F.A. 509) is the 509th year of the Sun of the First Age of Middle-earth.
Notable events in this year include:
- Maeglin is captured by orcs and taken to Angband.[1]
- Maeglin reveals to Morgoth the location of Gondolin; in return, Morgoth promises that Maeglin will rule Gondolin as a vassal and have possession of Idril.[2]
