Most articles have it (e.g. Eärrámë, Lassë and Silmariën), but a few do not (e.g. Oiale and Nienor). Do we have a policy on this as such; I think we should avoid inconsistency. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 12:36, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

You are right, and I vote no diaereses. Sage 19:30, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
I don't agree. The policy should be to use what is found in the sources. --Morgan 22:33, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
+1 for Morgan. -- Gamling 00:22 ,25 June 2011 (UTC)
I agree witb Morgan and Gamling, we should use the names from the source. --Amroth 13:52, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

I think that names and words with any dots or symbols should have them in the article name. They help with the pronunciation of names and words. For instance, until this year, I had always been pronouncing the name of "Nienor" wrong. It was only when I read the name as "Niënor" that I was actually able to pronounce it correctly.Dour1234 (talk) 13:22, 6 September 2022 (UTC)
