Ilinsor was a Vala in The Book of Lost Tales. He was a Súru, one of the servants of Manwë and Varda, and later chosen as a steersman of the Moon for Silmo could not do it. The greater brightness of the Sun made him envious, therefore he chased the stars.[1][2]
