Jack Arthur Walter Bennett (28 February 191129 January 1981) was a New Zealand-born literary scholar. He is best known as a scholar of Middle English literature, and as a fellow Inkling with J.R.R. Tolkien. Bennett succeeded C.S. Lewis as Professor of Medieval and Renaissance Literature at Magdalene College, Cambridge.
