Lindissë was the first child and only daughter of Axantur, a nobleman of Númenor. Her great-nephew Hallacar would marry Tar-Ancalimë, the first Ruling Queen of Númenor. Almost nothing is known about her life.[1]

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Lindissë is a Quenya name. Its meaning is not glossed, but Paul Strack suggests it means "Singer" and is a compound of lindë ("singing", "song", "musical sound") and the feminine suffix -issë (ending in feminine names).[2]
