Linquë súrisse is the Elvish name of a grass.[note 1]
The name likely means "grass in the wind". It has been suggested that the first element is Quenya linque ("grass, reed"). The second element would likely be related to súre.
- ↑ The name appears on unpublished drawings related to an illustration (fig. 196) by Tolkien depicting the grass; Hammond and Scull describes the physical appearance of the grass as a "bamboo-like plant".
