Lode Claes (1931 - 2019) was a Belgian artist who created fine line color scene pictures based on Lord of the Rings. His work was featured in various exhibitions in Belgium, the USA (Milwaukee, WI), the [1998 Tolkien calendar], [2000 The Lord of the Rings: A Book of 20 Postcards] and [Realms of Tolkien]. His art is owned by Priscilla Tolkien. Lode Claes was a close personal friend of Jan Boom.
