Gandalf in The Fellowship of the Ring, "Many Meetings"

Lord of the Ring or Lord of the Rings was a title for Sauron, the master of the One Ring. The singular form appeared twice when Peregrin Took tried to apply it to Frodo, but Gandalf corrected him.[1] The plural form appeared also twice: once in the mentioned conversation with Gandalf, and another by Glorfindel during the Council of Elrond.[2]
