Narfil Palùrfalas - Numenor Map.jpg

Númenor or Númenórë, was the greatest Mannish civilization in the history of Middle-earth, flourishing during the Second Age.

Also known in the Common Speech as Westernesse and in Adûnaic as Anadûnê, strictly speaking the term Númenor referred to the realm established on the island of Elenna, but it was more often used as a synonym for the land itself. The isle was raised from the Great Sea by the Valar at the beginning of the Second Age, and its people, the Númenóreans were blessed with a long and prosperous life. However, after three millennia, their wish for immortality corrupted them and led them to the Fall of Númenor.

Tall ships and tall kings
Three times three,
What brought they from the foundered land
Over the flowing sea?
Seven stars and seven stones
And one white tree.
