Template:Royalty infobox Malvegil (T.A. 1144 - 1349, died aged 205), was the son of Celebrindor, and gained the kingship of the Arthedain on his father's death in T.A. 1272.

It was during Malvegil's reign that the Witch-king founded the realm of Angmar, although there is no record of hostilities between Angmar and Arnor. The appearance of Angmar helped all evil beings in Middle-earth flourish: orcs increase in the Misty Mountains and attack the dwarves, and the Nazgûl are seen again.

Due to the evils of the Misty Mountains, people migrate westwards into the free lands of Arnor. In particular, hobbits move westward and in around T.A. 1300 many hobbits establish and settle in Bree.

Malvegil ruled Arthedain for seventy-seven years, and was succeeded by his son Argeleb I in 1349.
