Merimas Brandybuck was a Hobbit of Buckland.
History[edit | edit source]
Merimas was the eldest child, and only son, of Marmadas Brandybuck. He was present at Bilbo's Birthday Party.[1]
Etymology[edit | edit source]
The name Merimas is, like most male Brandybuck names, Celtic in sound, but apparently meaningless. The first element, Meri, is similar to Meriadoc, and could, like in that name, have been based on Buckland Westron kali, "jolly, gay".[2]
Portrayal in adaptations[edit | edit source]
2007: The Lord of the Rings Online:
- Merimas Brandybuck can be found in Buckland. He occupies the role of a crafting vendor in the game and plays no role in the storyline.
