Methed-en-glad was a stronghold of Dor-Cúarthol at the edge of the forest south of the Crossings of the Taeglin.[2]
History[edit | edit source]
The stronghold of Methed-en-glad was one of the many guarded camps and fortresses that were established around the Echad i Sedryn during the brief existence of Dor-Cúarthol, the realm ruled by the Two Captains. It was said that from Methed-en-glad, there was a view to the south where the summit of Amon Rûdh could be seen and commands and messages could be received to and from both locations through signals.[3][4]
Etymology[edit | edit source]
Methed-en-glad is a Sindarin name meaning "the End of the Wood", derived from methed ("end") + en ("of the") + glad ("wood").[5][6][7]
