Old Mrs. Bunce was, according to Samwise Gamgee's poem "Perry-the-Winkle", a woman of Michel Delving, who, upon seeing the Lonely Troll come into the town and greet her, dropped her umbrella and basket, and "yelled a frightful yell".[1]
