Oiolairë was a Fragrant Tree that grew in Númenor, and especially in the western region known as Nísimaldar. It was the custom among Númenórean mariners to place a cut bough of oiolairë on the prows of their ships, called the Green Bough of Return, as a symbol of good fortune.
