Royd Allan Reuel Tolkien (born 16 July 1969) is a great-grandson of J.R.R. Tolkien, the grandchild of Tolkien's second son, Michael. His birthname is Royd Baker, but he changed his name to Royd Tolkien when he became adult .[source?]

Royd Tolkien played a Ranger in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King[1] and the burier of the Witch-king in the Extended Edition of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.[2]

He has stated that he doesn't know whether or not he ever met his great-grandfather but his sister, Amanda is was a year older, does have a photo with him. He owns a signed copy of The Hobbit, with the inscription "To Royd, JRR Tolkien".[3]
