Súriquessë is the Elvish name of a grass.[1][note 1]

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The name likely means "wind feather".[1] It has been suggested that the name is Quenya,[2] and would derive from súre and quesse.[source?]

Notes

  1. The name appears on unpublished drawings related to an illustration (fig. 196) by Tolkien depicting the grass; Hammond and Scull describes the physical appearance of the grass as a "tuft of radiating grass".
