Sacha was the name of a "fire-fay", according to the early version of the legendarium associated with The Book of Lost Tales.[1]

While nothing else is known about the character specifically, in an addendum to the text The Creatures of the Earth, the fays/spirits associated with the greater Valar are broken down into four elemental groups[2]:

Possibly alluding to the fact that Sacha belonged to some category of fays/spirits associated with the above mentioned Fire group.[3]

Etymology

The name Sacha is in Gnomish. According to Eldamo, it is probably a derivative of the root SAH(Y)A ("be hot").[4] Its Qenya cognate is Sāya.[1]
