Talk:Battle of Dagorlad

There were two other battles in Dagorlad - in Third Age 1944 against the Wainriders, and later that year in the Battle of the Camp. You could also count the Battle of the Morannon, although that was south of Dagorlad. Therefore I am proposing a move. Should we move this page to "Battle of Dagorlad (I)" or "First Battle of Dagorlad"? "Battle of the Camp" could stay as it is, but there are no pages for the second Battle of Dagorlad, in which case it would be named according to the conventions implemented here. --Narfil Palùrfalas 13:27, 5 July 2007 (EDT)

I think in all probability most people would never have heard about the 'second' battle of dagorlad- certainly i cant remember it. From that stand point i would be very dubious about any renaming of the *main* battle of Dagorlad page. Is the "second" battle of Dagorlad actually named the battle of Dagorlad? If not the logical choice would be to give it a 'non-canon' name (like has happened with Sack of Bar-en-Danwedh and Massacre at Tarn Aeluin) and make sure it is suitably linked up to all notable participants/peoples/locations etc. If it was called the Battle of Dagorlad then i think it's best placed as a section of the main Battle of Dagorlad page.
