Relation between Ecthelion and Egalmoth

If we see the family tree, Ecthelion I is uncle of Egalmoth not his cousin.

If you look at the family tree in the Genealogy section on the Ecthelion I page, you can see that Ecthelion I is not the uncle of Egalmoth. The only child of Orodreth that is shown with a line going down from Orodreth to the next generation ist the line going to his son Ecthelion. If you click on Orodreth, you can see on the Orodreth page that only Ecthelion is mentioned as the child of Orodreth. If you look at the family tree and if you click on Morwen, you can see that Morwen is the aunt of Ecthelion, because she is the sister of bis father Orodreth. If you look at the family tree and if you click on Egalmoth, you can see that Morwen had an unnamed child and that Egalmoth is the son of this unnamed child and that Egalmoth is thus the grandson of Morwen. As a consequence, Ecthelion I is the great-uncle of Egalmoth, because he is the brother of the grandmother of Egalmoth, the brother of Morwen. Egalmoth is thus the great-nephew of Ecthelion I, because Ecthelion I is the brother of bis grandmother Morwen. --Akhorahil 11:20, 14 July 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
