What race was Lúthien?

Since Lúthien chose to be mortal, didn't she die an Edain? --Ebakunin 17:37, 30 June 2006 (EDT)

Actually "the Edain" referred only to a group of men, not men as a whole (which you probably knew, but oh well). Just because Lúthien chose mortality does not mean she "becomes" a man. That is my opinion anyway. --Narfil Palùrfalas 21:11, 30 June 2006 (EDT)
I did some quick research and we were both wrong. Half-elven comes from mixing Men and Elves only, since they have conflicting fates. Even though her mother was a Maia and she later became mortal, Lúthien was sill considered one of the Eldar. It was Beren that started to complicate everything. --Ebakunin 22:04, 30 June 2006 (EDT)
Alright. Thanks! --Narfil Palùrfalas 09:51, 1 July 2006 (EDT)
