Automatically sent me to the sword?[edit source]

When I just put "Ringil" into the search bar, it just takes me to the sword. Shouldn't it send me here? Galangren (talk)

Nah, the sword is more famous. --LorenzoCB (talk) 20:36, 23 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Saying that the sword is more famous is an assumption that most people would search for the sword and not anything else. The purpose of Disambiguation pages is to distinguish between two things of the same name. We should not assume that the sword is more famous because than we are inserting our own opinions into this.Dour1234 (talk) 22:43, 23 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Don't assume my assumption is wrong, because I'm right. --LorenzoCB (talk) 12:06, 24 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Well, if it went here, people would still be able to find the sword with minimal extra effort, but people looking for the pillar or the sea would find it easier. Plus, people might learn about the pillar. At minimum, we should put a link to the disambiguation page on Ringil. Galangren (talk)
Well, the Disambiguation page on Morwen does this, as the main Morwen page is where the main link goes while the link on the Disambig page is bolded. I still think that the main links should go to the Disambig pages because the wiki should not favor any one name over another name as names that are popular at one point could change to another name becoming more well known. How well-known something is changes all the time.Dour1234 (talk) 16:32, 24 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
