Tar-Anárion was the eighth ruler of Númenor, succeeding his mother, Tar-Ancalimë (being the first ruling Queen). His name means "Son of the Sun". His father was Hallacar.[1]
Little is said about Tar-Anárion's rule. His two eldest children were female, but both declined the throne for uncertain reasons, and they disliked and feared Ancalimë, who would refuse to let them marry. Therefore he was succeeded by his son, Tar-Súrion.[2]
