The deletion policy of Tolkien Gateway is fairly simple. There are no strict rules regarding this matter and issues are dealt on a case-by-case basis.

Deletion after discussion

If you think an article is not suited for this encycopedia, you can discuss the proposed deletion on the talk page (which, on this website, is called "Discussion"). If your proposition garners support, the template {{delete}} can be inserted in the top of the article. After consensus on the matter, it will be deleted.

Deletion without discussion

Tolkien Gateway deletes without discussion the following:

  • Spam.
  • Vandalism.
  • Images or files for which the orginal artist has not given us permission to use.
  • Images or files that contain doctored or modified content, and thus breach the copyright of the respectful owner.
  • Images or files that are duplicates of already existing images or files.
