Tollers is the name used by The Inklings for J.R.R. Tolkien.[1]

It is not known the reason for the nickname. But, T. Northcote Toller was an author of An Anglo-Saxon Dictionary considered the definitive lexicon for Old English, that Tolkien often used in their studies. 'Toller' is also the name a a medium-sized dog.
