• 1956 - The first episode of 1956 radio series of The Lord of the Rings airs on the BBC Third Programme.
• 1979 - Pictures by J.R.R. Tolkien is published in the US.
• 2001 - Meditations on Middle-earth is published.
• 2007 - The Children of Húrin Signed Limited Edition is published.
• 2012 - The Tolkien Estate, The Tolkien Trust and HarperCollins file another lawsuit with New Line Cinema and the Saul Zaentz Company over merchandising rights.
