Please help me out here if you can, I have been reading up on the Nazgul and it says in the article that they can only be killed by powerful Elven or Numorian weapons. If this is so then how did Eowyn kill the Witch King of Angmar with her sword crafted in Rohan, did she merely destroy his form or did she "slay" him as the article stated? And another question please, are the fates of the Nazgul tied to that of the One Ring? If it is destroyed do they die? Thanks
- I can't remember of a canonical reference. A common fan interpretation is that Merry's Numenorean blade weakened the Witch King allowing Eowyn to kill him. I suggest to look it up in the Tolkien FAQ where this matter is addressed and might give a canonical reference.
- As for the fate of the Nazgul, I may be wrong, but I believe that they perish with the Ring. You may want to look at the FAQ of the Rings (Google it) Sage 10:48, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
