Wedmath is the eighth month of the Shire Calendar, following Afterlithe and approximately corresponding to modern 24 July through 22 August.[1]

Etymology

The name represents a modernization of the Old English name for August, Wéodmónaþ, meaning "grass-month" (cf. weed).[2][3]
