A land or region to the south of [[Gondor]] and [[Mordor]]. The name is taken from the people who lived there, and literally means 'South-folk'. We have very few direct references to Haradwaith, so its borders and extent are difficult to estimate. It may be a broad term, identical in meaning to the more common [[Harad]]. However, the few references we do have all seem to refer to the seaward lands around [[Umbar]], so the name may relate specifically to this area.
