Hilary Arthur Reuel Tolkien was J.R.R. Tolkien's younger brother and son of Arthur Tolkien and Mabel Suffield. He was born on February 17, 1894 in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
Hilary Tolkien had a dog which he called Bilbo when it was good, and Baggins when it was bad.[1]
