I believe it's confusing S. golodh "deep-elf/gnome," "one of the wise folk" with goloth "inflorescence, head of small flowers." --Narfil Palùrfalas 17:02, 15 January 2008 (EST)
Even then, there's no way Tolkien would have westronized Sindarin like this without saying it. There has to be some sort of explanation in Parma Eldalamberon 17 (it has a lot, I shall update most of it). I'll check it as soon as I get home. -- Ederchil 03:11, 16 January 2008 (EST)
