A mess

This template (as well as many others) is a disorganized mess:

1) Why does it include characters, such as Arien and Tilion? - while they are no doubt important to overall cosmology, I don't see why a template such as this should include characters

2) 'Narsilion'? Seriously - why are the Sun and Moon included under this section: since 'Narsilion' is an in-universe epic, I don't quite see why it should be the name holder for this particular section of the template

3) Concepts outside of Ea (the Created World) such as the Timeless Halls and the Void, IMO should not be relegated into mere miscellany (aka 'See also'); likewise, I think that there should definitely be an 'Arda' section, which should include some important aspects of its geography

4) The template as it is relies way too much on the 'Ambarkanta' material (such as the concepts of 'Vista', 'Aiwenore', 'Vaiya', etc.) - a text that dates to the 1930s

5) The 'Constellations' and 'Stars' section should be merged into one category - of course, they should still be differentiated under their respective subcategories

6) 'The Airs' section should be merged into some other supercategory, since most of the stuff there belongs to the early 'Ambarkanta' (see: point no. 4 above)

7) The early legendarium concepts should be included somehow under their own section: and they should also include the 'Ambarkanta' material

8) The 'Round World Silmarillion' deserves at least a cursory mention at the bottom of the template

9) ...AND FINALLY: the template as a whole needs total restructuring, even if you disagree with some of the points I raised above: I'll try my hand at it in my sandbox. - IvarTheBoneless (talk) 18:04, 10 October 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
