William Kircher (born 23 May, 1958) is a New Zealand actor who portrayed Bifur in the The Hobbit (film series),[1] as well as Tom the Troll in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Kircher attended the Toi Whakaari New Zealand Drama School, graduating with a Diploma at the age of 18 in 1976. He later married Nicole Chesterman Kircher, whom he shares four daughters with.
Trivia
Kircher lied about his age when applying to Toi Whakaari, being only 16 at the time of his admission.[2]
A prolific stage actor, Kircher has acted in more than 100 plays and at least 30 screen projects.[3]
