Bummsdrápa is an unpublished three paged satirical poem "in pen and ink"[1] that was written by J.R.R. Tolkien in the 1920s or the early 1930s[2]. The University of Leeds library obtained the manuscripts of Bummsdrápa on 6 February, 1952.[1] The poem refers to the Kolbítar, a group founded by Tolkien to talk about Icelandic mythology. C.S. Lewis, Richard Wagner, and C.T. Onions were members of this group. The group preceded the creation of the Inklings.[3]
