Can we merge this with Saruman?
Doesn't seem necessary to have a separate page for this. MOONBOLT (talk) 20:20, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- In my opinion, the content of the Curunir page can be turned ino a redirect page that redirects to the Saruman page. This is the standard practice if a person, place or thing has several names.Curunír is used as a name for Saruman in LOTR, UT and S. Nan Curunír the Wizard's Vale (in LOTR) can be its own page, because it is the name of the valley in which Isengard is located. Again, it would be helpful if such a questions would be preceeded by a disclosure if and what kind of analysis with which results has been made instead of just asking a question. --Akhôrahil (talk) 08:54, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- My reasoning in this instance is that Curunir is just another name for Saruman. All of this information could easily be nested under an "Other names" section.
- It should be a redirect page instead. MOONBOLT (talk) 09:05, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- As indicated in the Manual of Style, the policy of the wiki is that other names of a character must redirect to the main article, unless they are shared by others. This has been repeated in the server several times. Please, you don't need to ask for permission for that. Just be sure no info is lost. Quentandil (talk) 13:21, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
- I haven't personally seen it repeated in the server. As the article has existed since 2005, I didn't know if there was some reason it had continued to exist as-is. I asked so I didn't make a modification that would upset some obscure rule or exception that I wasn't aware of. MOONBOLT (talk) 20:49, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
