I've read somewhere that the word "ernil" may not literally mean "prince" but is probably the proper name of one prince of Dol Amroth. It would be good to find the citation. Ainaldo

Geopolitical considerations
I thought DeE was a fief of Gondor but I notice that the fiefs are marked with capital letters on the map, so DeE is either a region that is part of Lamedon, or a separate region.
I think it's notable that in the Last Debate, when Linhir was attacked, it was Angbor, Lord of Lamedon who protected it. Not some Prince or relative of Imrahil or some men of Dor-en-Ernil or Dol Amroth.
As I doubt that "Lord" Angbor can be superior to "Prince" Imrahil, I guess DeE (as well as Dol Amroth) doesn't belong to Lamedon, but is rather a separate political entity.
Other than that, it could had been an historical name (which lost its significance after the Princes moved to Dol Amroth) or a geographical name (= an area, province or subregion of Lamedon). Sage 12:37, 23 October 2016 (UTC)
