- 1962 – J.R.R. and Edith Tolkien go on a trip to Bournemouth.
- 1966 - An issue of Saturday Evening Post is published, containing the an interview with Tolkien.
- 1972 - Mythcon 3 in Long Beach, California.
- 2003 - "Ents of Fangorn", the sixth set in The Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game, is released.
- 2004 - The Lord of the Rings Symphony at Jones Hall in Houston.
- 2006 - The Gathering of the Fellowship convention in Toronto.
- 2006 - Pieter Collier is awarded the 1st Annual Northeast Tolkien Society Imperishable Flame Award 2006 for his immense collection.
- 2020 - Andy Serkis publishes The Hobbit in audiobook form. It is now available on Audible.
