Douglas Carrel is a Scottish illustrator. He illustrated several scenes and characters from The Hobbit, including a picture of Gandalf for the documentary Real Wizards: The Search For Harry's Ancestors[1] and trolls for an excerpt in Fantasy Tales.[2] Some of those illustrations were later reused in Das Geheimnis der Ringe.
He also drew the cover illustrations for The Soddit and The Sellamillion.[3][4]
