Cover art is "Fangorn and Fimbrethil" by Kay Woollard.
The artwork was painted on buff paper, but the original reproduction on the magazine cover overemphasized the background.
At the time, the illustration was reproduced as Amon Hen cover by its owner without asking for copyright permission. As a consequence the artwork was not ready for publication as it stood.
