I need a little clarification about our new canon policy. How do we handle concepts which were clearly rejected by Tolkien? Should we put a non-canon template on Trotter? This query arose from seeing User:Dwarf Lord add characters to Category:Noncanon Dwarves - are Anar (dwarf), Burin, Hannar, Lofar, Nar (companion of Bilbo) non-canon? Should we take the latest editions of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings as "canon" but consider all 'Silmarilion' stuff subjective?-- KingAragorn  talk  contribs  edits  email  20:24, 16 September 2012 (UTC)

I totally agree Aragorn. I did not want to put those articles in the noncanon section. I only added them because a few years ago after I created them someone slapped the noncanon stamps on them, and after seeing a few other "noncanon" Dwarves in the category who are also of a similar kind to the above mentioned, I put them in as well just to be consistant.

I don't consider them to be noncanon though because they do not contradict anything Tolkien said in the FotR or in the legendarium.--Dwarf Lord 03:42, 18 September 2012 (UTC)
