On 21 September 1937, J.R.R. Tolkien wrote a letter to Simonne d'Ardenne.[1]
- Description: 1-page, handwritten letter, enclosed with a copy of The Hobbit (published on this day) sent by Tolkien as a gift to Simonne d'Ardenne.
- Archive: The letter is kept at the University of Liège.[2]
