Smakkabagms is an unpublished poem that was written by J.R.R. Tolkien possibly around 1924.[1] While the poem is not known to have been published anywhere, or whether any of its manuscripts survive today, it may have been among the poems that were rejected for inclusion in the collection of poems, Songs for the Philologists, in 1936. Christina Scull and Wayne G. Hammond claimed in their commentary to the poem From One to Five that they "have not seen" this poem.[2]

Etymology

Smakkabagms is a Gothic word meaning "fig tree".[2]
