Tûl Acharn! was a phrase that Húrin shouted to Lorgan in Hithlum after he was released from Angband by Morgoth.

History

After the Eastron, Lorgan, told Húrin to leave Hithlum and wished him ill, Húrin shouted the phrase "Tûl Acharn", warning Lorgan that he was not the last of the Edain, regardless of his fate.[1]

Etymology

Tûl Acharn! is a Sindarin phrase translating to "Vengeance comes", and is made up of the words Tûl ("to come") and Acharn ("vengeance, an act of revenge").[2]

Other versions of the legendarium

In a note, Christopher Tolkien mentions that the phrase was originally Tôl Acharn.[3]
