Tolkien's interest
I started this article curious about Tolkien's knowledge on Hebrew, as documented during his creation of Adunaic. It seems a bit curious as it was outside his main interest of european languages (especially germanic), and perhaps his phonoaesthetics (very different from finnish or welsh). At first I would like to think that he started studying Hebrew while working on the Bible, but it was much later in life, later than Adunaic and Khuzdul; so these might derive from an earlier, personal interest in Hebrew.
