The Reeve's Tale: Version Prepared for Recitation at the 'Summer Diversions'

The Reeve's Tale: Version Prepared for Recitation at the 'Summer Diversions' is J.R.R. Tolkien's version of Chaucer's Reeve's Tale, it was privately printed as pamphlets in 1939 in Oxford.

It contains a two-page introduction, and a reworked text of The Reeve's Tale by Chaucer.

The text was reprinted in 2008 in Tolkien Studies 5.

It was again reprinted in 2024 in Tolkien on Chaucer, 1913-1959, but here it incorporates some lately discovered materials, including restored lines that were omitted previously, a list of footnote-glossary, and a text 'Chaucerian grammar' lasting several pages.
