I have just finished the First Age portion of Celebrimbor's life (yet to add references) in my sandbox, and it seems to me that it might be too long - I have a tendency to go on a tangent. Do you think I should condense it? - IvarTheBoneless 20:03, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
- I think it's a great start! I see what you mean about the length. Sometimes it's easier to begin with a lot of content and then sharpen it, than it is to start small and keep adding on. How about our sources though? I would love to see as many citations as possible, if we can't find a source for a statement that might be a good reason to eliminate it for the time being. --Hyarion 20:46, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you. As for the length, I just felt that I needed to add some context to his life, and as for sources, like I said, I will add them - I am very, very hesitant about including unsourced material in general. But anyway, this is just a preliminary sketch. - IvarTheBoneless 20:54, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
- Also, with The Silmarillion and the Unfinished Tales, do I include page and/or paragraph numbers? Because so far, I believe the site's policy has been not to include page numbers for The Silmarillion and the UT, if I'm not mistaken. - IvarTheBoneless 20:59, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
- Awesome, sounds like a plan! Regarding page numbers, maybe someone else will chime in, but if I am staring at a page number while typing up the citation, I usually include it. It's much easier to remove it later than it is to add it back. It won't help everyone, but if it helps a few people then might as well include it. I'm still hoping we can do paragraph citation for everything at some point, but I don't think the community is there yet. --Hyarion 21:28, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
