Belemir (born F.A. 339) was a man of the House of Bëor.
History
Belemir was the son of Beldir and husband to Adanel of the House of Marach. He fathered Beren, grandfather of Beren Erchamion, hero of the First Age.[1]
There was great love between he and his younger kinswoman Andreth, and she dwelt long in his house. While there, Andreth learned much of the lore of the folk of Marach from Adanel.[2]
In F.A. 409, Finrod was a guest in his house and held a long debate with Andreth.[3]
Genealogy
Other versions of the legendarium
There were two versions of the genealogical table for the House of Hador. In the first version of the table there was a note that Beren, son of Belemir and Adanel, was their fifth child. In the second version there was no reference to these other children. The section of the second version shown above shows only the first Beren although the other children may have existed.[4]
In a struck out note, it was stated of Adanel that she "wedded Belemir of the House of Bëor, and he joined the people of Aradan".[5]
