History
The village was located in the Southlands of Middle-earth, and specifically in the Plateau of Gorgoroth. It was destroyed by the eruption of Orodruin, causing the survivors to abandon the place.[2][3]
Etymology
Tirharad is likely a Sindarin word meaning southwatch, being possibly comprised of the elements Tir ("watch") and Harad ("south").
