-dor is a Sindarin suffix,[1] meaning "king, lord".[2] As seen in earlier Noldorin, the word is actually taur,[3] but only the lenited form is seen in examples.
Examples
- Arador = "Noble lord"
- Celebrindor = "Silver lord"
- Gildor = "Star lord"
- Gwindor = "New lord"
- Meneldor = "Lord of the Heavens"
- Thorondor = "King of Eagles"
