Captain of Ships was a title of Gondor that was held by Castamir, the grandson of Calimehtar, the younger brother of king Rómendacil II.[1]
Castamir was the Captain of Ships during the Kin-strife. His position allowed him to find supporters from the havens of Umbar, Pelargir and the coastal lands of Gondor, and to overthrow the rightful King Eldacar.[1]
