Hello everyone, greetings from Brazil. I've been trying to develop a Brazilian Tolkien wiki and it's a rather lonely job, very difficult to carry out on my own. Also, it is currently hosted in Fandom, and despite all my reservations against it, it just makes me sad to leave it abandoned (I think I was one of its first users as a kid; the Wiki dates from 2006). So, my request is, would you grant me permission to translate TG articles into portuguese and share it on the Br wiki? Or maybe, do you have a policy regarding that I have overlooked? I also appreciate the way TG organizes information much more than the One Wiki (Fandom's site), and TG is simply more trustworthy in general. I would create a template to cite TG as an external link if it makes sense to you (since I would be merely translating articles people wrote in English). Let me know what you think and I'll proceed accordingly.
Great site btw. Hannon le! ==Passolargo (talk) 03:49, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Passolargo! I remember being in your shoes and it can definitely seem like starting to climb Mount Everest, hang in there! We would be honored if you would use TG articles for your translations, and feel free to borrow any of our templates that we have created.
- Have you seen compendiumtolkien.com.br? I believe that is a Brazilian Portugese wiki not hosted on Fandomn that we currently link to.
- Feel free to swing by our chat anytime and we would be happy to help with any questions. --Hyarion (talk) 04:41, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- That is awesome, thank you for the quick reply. I was not aware of Compendium Tolkien's existence but I I've gotten in touch with them and maybe we'll partner up. Thank you! --Passolargo (talk) 07:45, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
